Strategic investment. Local operations.
Lasting impact.
VAF is a Uganda-based investment and operating company that identifies, builds, and scales high-impact businesses across logistics, aviation, agribusiness, and energy services.
uganda’s Moment
Uganda is one of Africa’s most promising growth stories. Politically stable for decades and widely known as the “Emerald of Africa,” the country is entering a new era of accelerated development. With first oil production expected in 2026, the economy is poised for rapid expansion.
We believe the best way to translate this momentum into broad-based prosperity is through strategic, long-term investment in transformative sectors — not through aid, but through commercially viable businesses that create lasting economic multipliers.
$60+ billion — Estimated annual trade potential on Lake Victoria
17 Domestic airports to be connected by scheduled air services
One of the region’s largest cattle populations
First oil production expected 2026
Current Projects
We invest in and operate businesses that deliver long-term economic value, create quality jobs, and build local capacity across the East African Community.
Lake Cargo
Lake Victoria represents an estimated $60+ billion in annual trade potential, yet only a fraction is currently utilized. We are developing a modern cargo and logistics company to significantly increase freight volumes, lower transport costs, and unlock greater trade within the EAC.
Aviation
In partnership with Uganda Air Cargo Corporation, we are developing scheduled air services connecting Uganda’s 17 domestic airports. This network will transform connectivity for healthcare, industry, agriculture, and tourism, supported by codeshare agreements with Uganda Airlines and international carriers.
dairy
Uganda’s dairy sector is a star performer within the agricultural economy, yet remains significantly underutilized. We are developing a multi-tiered dairy platform — from production through processing and distribution — designed to create a scalable, profitable business aligned with national priorities.
cattle & meat
Uganda possesses one of the largest cattle populations in the region, yet very little meat is currently exported. We are building the infrastructure, processing capacity, and expertise needed to transform this into a major revenue and employment generator that meets international standards.
Agriculture & Cash Crops
Key export crops including coffee, cocoa, cotton, and peppers are vital sources of foreign exchange. We introduce improved technologies, traceability systems, and transparent documentation to help farmers increase yields, access premium markets, and move up the value chain.
Cold Chain Logistics
Reliable cold chain infrastructure is a critical missing link for Uganda’s agricultural and food exports. We are developing a professional cold chain logistics company with modern trucks and services to ensure products reach markets in optimal condition.
Upstream & Downstream Oil & Gas Services
As Uganda develops its oil fields, significant expenditure is currently directed toward importing specialized services. We are establishing local companies to provide these services, building national capacity, retaining more value in-country, and creating high-skill employment.
how we evaluate every opportunity
We rigorously assess every project against four core criteria :
high impact
Potential to meaningfully benefit local communities, the national economy, and the wider East African Community.
commercial vialability
Must be capable of generating sustainable, long-term profits.
knowledge transfer
Foreign expertise is introduced to build local skills, with a clear pathway to hand over operations to Ugandan teams.
catalytic effect
The project must enable and strengthen other businesses rather than operate in isolation.
We deliberately avoid purely extractive models that remove resources or value with minimal local benefit. Instead, we focus on projects that drive value addition, industrial upgrading, and the development of complete value chains — including upstream and downstream industries.
Our impact and philosophy
Every project we undertake is guided by a single overarching goal: to accelerate Uganda’s economic development and help lift its people out of poverty through sustainable job creation, skills development, and integration into regional and global markets.
We are committed to building businesses that generate shared prosperity rather than short-term extraction.
seeking like-minded partners
We are actively seeking investors who want to achieve both strong financial returns and meaningful, measurable impact in one of Africa’s most dynamic regions. Our projects are supported by detailed financial models and sector expertise developed in collaboration with local and international specialists.
